چکیده
Abstract Determination of the youngest active domains in fault zones that are not overlain by Quaternary sedimentary cover is critical for evaluating recent activity, determining current local stress field, and mitigating impacts future earthquakes. Considering exhumation a zone, domain zone supposed to correspond activity at minimum depth buried fault, such most vulnerable area, which possesses lowest rock/protolith density ratio, assumed be indicative this activity. However, it difficult measure rocks map ratio across given zone. Here, we utilize medical X-ray computed tomography (CT), non-destructive technique observing analyzing materials, investigate characteristics several their surrounding regions Japan, attempt determine based on its CT numbers, function effective atomic number rock protolith. We first density, void inactive rocks, respective protoliths. then calculate numbers after reducing beam-hardening effects samples study relationships among number, number. demonstrate decrease as identified outcrop observation, approached, region with defines z one. also discuss relationship between major points considered when from determined

X-ray Computed Tomography for Medical Imaging
Themathematical principles of computed tomography (CT) were first investigated by J. Radon [28] as early as 1917 and were later extended to complex fields by Kirillov [22]. The first application of tomography was, surprisingly, in radio astronomy [2], and today, it finds usage in diverse fields such as medical imaging, seismology, and underwater acoustic imaging. In medical imaging, CT has had ...
متن کاملdetermination of maximal singularity free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulator
due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...

X-ray computed tomography (CT), introduced into clinical practice in 1972, was the first of the modern slice-imaging modalities. To reconstruct images mathematically from measured data and to display and to archive them in digital form was a novelty then and is commonplace today. CT has shown a steady upward trend with respect to technology, performance and clinical use independent of predictio...
متن کاملImpact of Photon Spectra on the Sensitivity of Polymer Gel Dosimetry by X-Ray Computed Tomography
Introduction: The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of X-ray spectra on the sensitivity of a polymer gel dosimeter imaged with a conventional computed tomography (CT) scanner. Material and Methods: The whole process of CT imaging of an irradiated polymer gel was simulated by MCNPX Monte Carlo (MC) code. The imaging of polyacrylamide gel was accomplished by means of a co...
